Invitation only
The way films are made. Without the wait.
Script, storyboard, takes, cut. RenderBob 3 keeps the order the industry trusts and works through the slow parts with you, on your Mac.
macOS 15 on Apple silicon. We'll email you if we can invite you.
Start wherever the film is. A page of script, a folder of photos, or nothing yet. Open the project from there, move between the script, the board, and the cut as the film asks, and keep the takes you liked.
Open it your way. Begin with a script, your own pictures and clips, or a blank board. Naming the project and choosing a folder does not make an image or a clip.
A scene becomes a list of shots. The script stays yours. A breakdown is waiting beside it: scenes, beats, framing, and how long each shot runs. Discard it, change the list, or keep it. The board can open before a single frame exists.
Pictures, when you want them. Rough sketches can be made on your Mac, and the download size is shown before anything downloads. Or bring images you already have. Mara, the station, and the ticket stay in the project for every shot that needs them.
You decide what gets made. Only the shots you picked are sent. The cost is on screen before you continue. If a take fails, the ones that worked stay, and choosing one does not replace a clip you already cut.
Watch it, then change one piece. Play the board as an animatic and judge the timing before you pay for a moving shot. Swap one clip for another take and keep its trim. The other places that clip appears stay as they are. Export writes the cut you are watching to a folder you choose.
Who it's for
Filmmakers and directors. A director boarding a scene before it moves. Previz, concept shots, and pitch reels. Board a scene from the script, watch the pencil frames at length, and send out only the shots that need to move.
Agencies and studios. A studio with a brief that has not left the building. Client spots and pitch boards. Work you do not send out stays on your Mac, which is the practical answer when a brief is not cleared to leave the building.
What you can count on The claims are the ones the app can keep.
The project stays on this Mac. The film sits in the folder you chose. Imported pictures, clips, and audio are copied into the project, and the originals stay unchanged. Export writes an MP4 or ProRes file to a folder you choose.
Local models stay here. Pencil sketches are made on this Mac. You download the weights, and they stay in Application Support. API keys for a connected provider stay in the Keychain on this Mac.
A provider you connect. A moving shot, a line of speech, a score. Cloud image, video, speech, music, and sound effects go to a provider you connect, such as Google, Runway, or ElevenLabs. That provider bills you. RenderBob does not sell GPU hours.
A known machine. Runs on a Mac with an M1 chip or newer and macOS 15. You choose how much of your Mac's power, memory, and disk space it may use, so your other apps keep room to work.
What is RenderBob 3? A Mac app for making films. Start from a script, your own pictures and clips, or an empty board. The script, the storyboard, and the cut live in one project, and you can move between them whenever the film asks.
Who is this page for? Filmmakers and directors making previz, concept shots, and pitch reels. Agencies and studios making client spots and pitch boards, including briefs that should stay on your Mac.
What runs on your Mac? Rough storyboard sketches can be made on your Mac. The download size is shown before anything downloads. RenderBob 3 needs macOS 15 on Apple silicon.
Where do the files live? In the project folder you choose when you create the film. Imported files are copied into the project, and the originals stay unchanged. Work stays on your Mac unless you export it or send a shot to a provider you connect.
What can I export? Export writes the cut you are watching to a folder you choose, with the format, resolution, frame rate, and audio set in the export dialog. Open that file in the editor you already use, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Exporting does not make a new shot.
What does cloud mean? A provider you connect. You see the selected shots and the quote before anything is sent. That provider bills you. RenderBob does not sell GPU hours.
What about files I do not send out? They stay on your Mac. A connected provider handles only what you send to it, under their terms.
